Cannabis is a hyperaccumulator: it draws what is in the soil and the water up into the plant, which is useful for remediating land and inconvenient for growing a consumable.
We test for seven metals — lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, copper, nickel and chromium — by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
Where it usually comes from
Rarely the plant. Usually the medium, the water, or hardware: vape components, older irrigation, and fertilisers that were never meant for a crop people inhale.
