Imazalil. Jasmolin. Metalaxyl. Cinerin. They read like invented names, and they are the residues a compliance panel is looking for.
Michigan requires sixty-seven potentially harmful substances to be analysed. We run them by liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry, which reaches parts per trillion: the concentration at which a residue is present but not yet a problem.
Failing early beats failing late
Most pesticide failures are inherited rather than applied — from a clone, from a neighbouring room, from last season's equipment. Testing input material rather than only finished product is how a grow finds that out while it is still cheap.
Questions
- What happens if a sample fails?
- The result stands, and we will talk you through which analyte failed and at what level. Where it helps, we can test inputs and environment to find where it came from.
- How sensitive is the method?
- LC-MS/MS quantifies to parts per trillion, well below the action limits the state sets.
